You'll be hard pressed to find anything with NO learning curve as you indicated. But I think the next easiest program aside from poser that can do what you suggested is Bryce. You can eventually get as complex as you want with Bryce, but the only learning curve you'll need to climb when you first get started is how to import Poser hair correctly. ;)
