I remember something about multi-grouped props (i.e. those saved with the "select subset" option) not being able to be smart-propped at the same time. Maybe this applies here? There may be a file hack to get around it. Sorry to be vague - I'm not that clever, and I haven't got my brain substitute with me. :-) I may be able to suggest something later if nobody else chimes in.
