I know M3 and V3 have material zones for the scalp, but there are impractical because they don't even remotely approach the hairline. Also some textures that have the hair already on them can look odd because of the lack of depth. So my suggestion would be to create another material zone on Maximus' head and use Cath's displacement mapping.

This pic should give you a good ideas of what the hairline might look like.
