excellent screens, wish you could of gotten one of those night shots, now if only they could hear the kick ass soundtrack! I'm with you, when low on inspiration, esp. for fantasy fans, morrowind can really get your brain moving. unfortunatley...counter strike gets my fist moving, towards the monitor.
Morrowind doesn't use the Unreal engine, unfortunately... But it's editor is powerful and fast, and anything you make in Rhino or Wings can go right into the game, form levels and structures to weapons to characters! Doom 3 DOES look fabulous, and is the first game to ever incorporate "self-shadows", something that up until now has only been available in ray-tracers and the like... Awesome shots of Farcry, Innovator! That game looks wonderful... Morrowind is also a FPS, but more like a FPRPG, since there are no guns. But I made a "Hadoken" ring, which will shoot ove 100 fireballs in a row! Yippeee! Pogmahone, once installed Morrowind doesn't need anything else. There are also two expansions, Tribunal and the new one, Bloodmoon. Bloodmoon sets you up as a werewolf, of al things! So, at night, you have to be away from people or they will see you transform, and then the whole island knows what you are... And at night you have to feed... (grins)
"Morrowind doesn't use the Unreal engine, unfortunately" Yeah I know it does'nt I use the Morrowind Editor from time to time to get a break from the UNREAL engine...I pray that DOOM3 comes with a Level Editor,I would love to play with that one... "But it's editor is powerful and fast, and anything you make in Rhino or Wings can go right into the game, form levels and structures to weapons to characters!" Shadow my man will you please Expand on this Statement for me... What formats does Morrowind import and what format are you exporting out of Wings? What about animations?Character animations?I am using Truespace6.6 to model in and then I import my Files into Milkshape and then you can export out as PSK for direct import into UNREAL?What about the formats that can be exported out of Wings and I am wondering if any of the formats would be compatible with Truespace and the Unreal Engine...Thanks
i'm saving up to build a monster of a machine just for D3... (well, ok and bit of bryce work ;] ) i'm sure Carmack will include a level editor. he is an ex-hacker after all. its Romero (remember him!) who you have to watch out for. John PS: don't even mention HL2, i am nashing my teeth until it comes out, ive pre-ordered it at game...
My only issue with Doom has always been the same, content. Neither of the first two games had anything solid in the way of plot, for me a good game should read like a story. The technical marvels aside, I'm sure that when Unreal III or Halflife 2 cojmes out we'll see some real fun, and not just a display of pretty pictures. Morrowind certainly doesn't have the best graphics, nor does it use the Unreal engine, but the STORY in it is more than book-worthy, and the skies and foliage are breathtaking... Thanks for all the cool screens of other games, it's always good to open ones mind a bit!
who cares about plot when the game is FUN! www.snood.com better than crack! and no plot. it's all about gameplay. what i hate is a half decent shooter with a badly tacked on story. i'd rather have a collection of disjointed fun replayable levels or missions than a story at the expense of the fun. games are fun, remember that! John PS: though a GOOD plotline with well thought out levels and has a replayability factor is bound to be a winner.
Best game plotline of all time, you're a frsh star pilot, here's a spaceship, go trade/kill/pirate/smuggle whatever takes your fancy. There's still not been many games to beat Elite for downright playability.

Aye, Morrowind is a slow, tedious, game of patience. The flow of the game has yet to reach it's maturity, but all things considered, by the time TES IV comes out (Morrowind is The Elder Scrolls III) and they achieve 'net multiplayer status, well... Everquest, Schmeverquest... I think the last really powerful, fun, spiritually enlightening yet wonderfully thought out game I've really played was Starcraft. No other games since then have rally made that kind of magic happen inside me. Warcraft 3 was a joke, it should have been called Battlecraft, or Skirmishcraft. Other than Starcraft and Morrowind, Deus Ex was the only recent game that had the copmlexity and fun factor that I need, in my old age!
