If you mean selecting by group name (FaceSkin, Fingernails, etc) then it should be possible. It's certainly possible to copy the whole 'Material' from one group to several others in P4. This should carry the shaders along with the Material in P5. (I don't know but a quick test will answer the question.) Python doesn't have DIRECT access to the P5 nodes. But if you mean selecting visually by mouse, then it's just about impossible.
