As hauksdottir suggested, if the .cr2 files are locking up while loading it sounds like an .obj or .rsr problem. If so though, you should also be getting an error message something like "cannot load geometry file whatever.obj" or somesuch, along with the good'ol "you need more memory" message. Are you only getting the Memory error message?
