I am kind of new to Poser 5 as well, but when you are in any of the rooms, you can change any of the characters (I believe) to resemble wireframe characters. There are little buttons (mine are at the bottom of my screen) and one will be a render button, another a wireframe button, a flatmodel button (or something along that nature) and each of them change the character to appear different.
