Subject: How about a beginners gallery

A place where the new artist can post their stuff and get some feed back with out it being put up against some of the better artwork. This way people will get fair ratings based on their skill level.

I'm not sure how useful that would be - I've been working with Poser for years now (2), and Bryce for a couple of months, so most people wouldn't consider me a "beginner," but I've seen some "beginners" who put EVERYTHING I've done to shame... I don't think there's a "competition", except in the minds of some posters; the ratings are supposed to take into account other works you've seen from that person (and if they are a true beginner, then I suppose they'd be rated based on all the other images uploaded at roughly the same time).

True, I to have had images slammed by beginners who I think dont know what poser's, bryce's, or other 3d apps limits are. They also don't know what your ability is unless they check out alot of your works.

Maybe a new members gallery where you can introduce your images to the group... say for the first month as a member...

I disagree to this. I'm not too sure we need this. I'd just disable ratings, say you're a beginner., get constructive criticism. then when you feel confident. enable the ratings :) OR Post to the forums, and get criticism that way :) We need more stuff in there anyway heh. When you post something to be judged( on a scale level), I feel it means you're confident about your image and want criticism and praise to better yourself. I can tell you now, when I joined, I got ALOT of help to boost my confidence, and yes I did get 1's, and I almost rarely got a 5 (the default scale) But, this means hardly nothing to me because I like the comments and not the scale :) Some of these beginners have SO much talent.

Disabeling ratings would be a good Idea. But on the other side: If I want to comment an Image without giving a Rating, I usually send a Message.
