I'm thinking this thread answered by Donald may be quite helpful in answering some of your questions..... I'm thinking a polarizer may be more of a diservice because this is going to cut down on the available light by 1-2 stops more. And with light being at a premium, this may cause you some difficulties in getting reasonable shutter speeds that can be safely hand-held. Maybe? You may even want to try shooting with some 800 ISO film as well, unless you find grain to be extremely objectionable.
