That issue comes up occasionally among furry artists. It usually boils down to fashion and style vs. practicality and comfort.
In the comic strip Freefall, one of the main characters was raised by humans and thus has been instilled with their cultural mores concerning modesty. Also, she's a ship's engineer, so she needs a form-fitting jumpsuit for its protective qualities against hazardous work conditions.
If you really want to have some fun, try asking members of the furry community about the pros and cons of footwear ....
For Poser, however, the catsuit is an essential utility, as it can be transmapped to create a wide variety of clothing.
