Every astrophysicist needs to keep an artist or two around to teach him the meaning of the word "unquenchable" (paraphrased from Gandalf's grumbling about the curiosity of hobbits). This is far from my fields (although I do try to keep up with the exploration of space). When I read something or an issue arises, I usually know who to ask for detailed explanations. Most of these guys show up at science fiction conventions. The bigger cons have a science track, and where else to argue speculative discoveries or fringe theories? I remember one mathematician talking about white holes, black holes, and worm holes... with a dollop of time travel thrown in for the audience. :) Poor Batronyx!
