(1) some of the recent worm programs could be used to relay SPAM through the infected machines -- the expectation is that a list of those machines would be sold to SPAM providers (remailers) -- IOW, for economic reasons. (2) some seems to be done to validate the originator -- IMO, 10 times (zero) is still (zero). (3) it is entirely entirely possible that some is eco warfare ... and more to come.
