I do own the cat... and someone else is making the assumptions. The toes are not posable. They are glued together, with no real geometry between them. My remark about mittons is valid. My cat has thumbs. And even as furry as she is (a Norwegian Forest Cat), the toes are quite obviously and visibly separate structures. If it wasn't for the extremely long fur on the bottoms (suitable for walking on snow), she'd have had the front door open by now. It has been years since I clipped her claws (she has sisal and trees), and so I'm well aware of what spread, natural, unretracted, sharp claws look like. I also have a few scars from cat games... tag being a favorite of hers. She does like having her paws and between her toes rubbed just like we humans appreciate a hand or foot massage. Look at the image (right hand camera set to 100 focal). The best thumb I can get is using the claw dial on the wrist set to 1... any higher and it makes a long cup, leaving the claw down inside like a calla lily. ;p Without a thumb it is very hard to hold down prey. The spread dial on the paw yields... well... it looks like marshmallows stuck together. Maybe the toes don't have to work independently, but they ought to be present. This becomes even more necessary when you consider morphability, and variations such as Lyne's Wild Cats. This cat is definately an improvement, but it also has faults. Carolly
