Well, whaddaya know... I turned Self-shadows off, the shadow got smaller. Turned Receive Shadows off and it practically disappeared. There's still a small, redder trace of it, as you can see, but it's almost unnoticeable. Thanks, shadow. :-) I *had* turned off the sun, *had* turned the clouds off... OTOH, I'd like him to look more Oriental, more specifically something like a cross between a Chinese and a Vietnamese. What do you suggest to change to achieve that look? A wider nose? A smaller mouth? A narrower chin? Also, a suggestion for the skin hue? I think that I have to get rid of the beard ... shadow, too. :-) Also, I opened the mesh in Rhino and noticed there's a small darkening on the place of the shadow, like the mesh is distorted there. So, further adjustment in Poser might resolve the problem. Or create a bigger one.
