I'm a real amateur with animation, but found it pretty easy to manage in Bryce. I've just done walk-throughs, fly-bys, simple things like levers tick-tocking etc.. But it's good for confidence-building when you don't know what you're doing lol Have you had a look at the animation tutorial on the Brycetech site?
