The difference it can make in outdoor shots is really amazing. The part around the lens that attaches to a tripod is called a collar and most of your long zooms that would need one come with it, but that's not always true. Sometimes they make it an option (which I think is a crime, but oh well). They are specific to the lens. As for giving me competition, you gotta set your sights way higher than me. :) -=>Donald
