insomniaworks ( ) posted Mon, 22 March 2004 at 9:07 PM · edited Sat, 23 November 2024 at 5:17 AM

Here goes another thread in the on going saga, lol. Welcome new people and feel free to butt into our conversation. We are developers, testers, and customers, all talking and putting our heads together on making the best of the Catsuit With Attitude! released a little more than a month ago. Since the release of CatSuitWithAttitude, we have developed two Addon packages right here under the watchfull eyes of the public. You will see more ideas and products being developeded as well as see what the testers have to say about the products, both good and bad during developement. Thank you everyone for helping make a great set of products as well as fun set of forum threads.

Since this is a place for news, The3dZone and I havn't spoke of it, and for no good reason, but we are about to submit another item in the next few days. It will be Lace Texture package with and added Easter Bonus. There is going to be a bunny costume with posable ears, very very cute bunny tail, and some stand alone props such as an easter basket, tiny chick or chicks, and easter eggs. The ears and tail were built by The3dZone and I asssited by making the ears posable with joints. She has created an assortment of lace textures as well as a bunny texture also for the cat suit. I have created the other 3 props mentioned. This will be offered up for testing in the next few days so stay tooned.

uuurgh.. i waited for it but... 23mb. won't even dare the trip from my poor 56k. Will have to wait at least one month before i can maybe visit a friend with dsl to buy it at that time and get it... btw i often saw 2000x2000 textures freezing/hanging my poser most fo the time; sometime i just have to resize them a bit, or sometimes they just need being compressed a bit more :) insomnia: could you provide a seamguide and template for the catsuit please ? I "fear" that UVmapper did not give me a good basis to work on last time i tried. I would be more "confident" if i could try some things out of an official map/seamguide...

*lol* A bunny package, oh that's going to be SO cute! I can't wait to see. :) Will there be little jelly beans and those marshmallow chick-shaped candies? :) Playing around some more with catsuit textures. :)

I am sorry about the file size, we actually intended on putting much more stuff in the package but stopped when we saw how large had grown. 2000x2000 pixel are pretty much the standard now, no decient texture maker works with anything smaller. Like you said, you can resize them if it makes things run better. I will ask about having a seam guide made. Here are the two UV maps - One is the Main Map consisting of fabrics and the other is a Trim Map- they are 2000x2000 pixel and in jpg format. These are pretty easy to follow for a seam guide to me it seams because all you really have to do is follow the mesh lines. http://www.renderosity.com/homepage.ez?Who=insomniaworks&ViewArticle=6944 http://www.renderosity.com/homepage.ez?Who=insomniaworks&ViewArticle=6945

insomniaworks ( ) posted Mon, 22 March 2004 at 10:55 PM

By the way, I think 23 meg is about an hour and fifteen minutes at 56k. Sorry the package got so large, but these are detailed products.

-Yggdrasil- ( ) posted Tue, 23 March 2004 at 12:39 AM

Gah!!!! Will they be the puffy bunny ear type or the thin Playboy type? Personally, I'd much prefer the former (more anime-style and much cuter I think). I was just thinking like... yesterday?... Sunday?... that she needed some ears like that after running around on POB. Hmmmm... idea...

Riddokun ( ) posted Tue, 23 March 2004 at 2:09 AM

i was not criticizing either the size of the package or nowadays standards... not giving a doubt in the quality.. jut stated that it would take me age (well 1h and half, means 3$ of phone bill too: i am in a sooooo civilised country....) but last night i made a rush in my runtime, and then i saw 2000x2000 textures tat were something like 3 megabytes in size. I guess the maker could have make a small effort on compression, and also not filling unmapped areas with white or something :) anyway i am eager to get it, when i can...

SenshiTaurus ( ) posted Tue, 23 March 2004 at 2:31 AM

COOL! I needed a cute little bunny for my poser girl! Can't talk for long sonce I have to go to school. Jaa Ne

Nanoshi ( ) posted Tue, 23 March 2004 at 4:46 AM

my 2000x2000 textures are all less than 1MB but there are alot of them :) you can scale em to a more managable size but making em at 2000 x 2000 lets you add alot of detail to the texture in the form of material patterns overlaid over the texture, or scans/photos of material textures, that really stand out on the model.

Milk. It Does A Body Good.- - - - - -

Just a random mixing bowl of stuff. I used a modified Camouflage material on the CatSuit after thinking about the bunny costume idea. I remember getting camouflage straight from Poser one time, so I went about finding a way to modify it to look more cow-like. It's close, but not quite there. Still, thought I'd share. ^_^

hauksdottir ( ) posted Tue, 23 March 2004 at 5:32 AM

Interesting. I suggest adding a tuft to the end of the cow tail, and a pink blush to her udders. (There should be 4 of them but that might cross over the bounds of good taste, or something.)

We decided instead of making another visor for the jetpack, we'd make a helmet instead. here's a rough render of the helmet, needs refining more yet, but I've tried to give it similar material type zones to the catsuit and make it sporty and millitary looking, so it will serve as a helm for Senbotsu style renders or a motor sports style helmet :)

little render http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=634051&Start=1&Artist=The3dZone&ByArtist=Yes although i have not mastered making my own models poseable yet with quick conform,i have found it a good tool in coverting clothing,so i made v3's gothic boots conformable to the anime doll, now she has cool shoes! :0)

Just a quick test for the Bunny suit. Everything's all right and working. The MAT poses files work well in Poser5, and they are very clever in how they are built.
