Assateague and Chincoteague Island, Virginia -- IIRC, about 2 hours from Baltimore. The Maryland Renaissance Faire about 30 minutes from Baltimore -- Too bad that you'll have to wait until August for their season to start. Anapolis, MD about 10 minutes further than the RenFaire; State Capitol, also the US Naval Academy is located there. Follow I-70 west from Baltimore for about 2 hours and you'll reach some hilly areas with photo ops. The Appalachian Trail passes through Harpers Ferry, WV -- about 20 miles from Frederick, MD Towson University -- very much an up and down campus. That should help. MGD
