Here is a link to a tutorial on uploading images to the gallery. Just as you must own the writing that you post, you must also either own the image you post, or have permission to repost from the person who owns the copyright. Most people here make their own images, then resize them to 300x300. As far as your work being copied and passed off as someone elses goes... Yes, it is against the law.
