IIRC, that is called a "kepi", and a search for French Foreign Legion type stuff ought to get you the right hat. It certainly isn't anything like a baseball cap, because the top is flat, nor ribbed or domed. If you find a decent kepi, you can always make it white and add the flap to protect the neck.
