Dave, The solid wheels are fairly primitive. You don't have to be a wheelwright to make or repair them. Almost anybody can smooth a plank, but turning spokes on a lathe is another skill. They may even work better in some situations such as heavy clay, which would glom up spokes. Spokes would be better in sand, which would sift right through them. Carolly
