It almost would break down, but the stock I had required a lot of reinforcement glued on. (Too much side to side flex otherwise.) But who knows, maybe with triwall or some heavier stock... I could try making the templates as an image and post them. I wonder if this could be considered the first attempt at a cardboard recliner? (I know there's plenty of regular cardboard chairs.)
