Boy I'm just full of insight this morning. Another thing that may be the cause of the slump in sales across the board is because people are gearing up for the summer. Prom is around the corner, summer vacations and time off are being finalized, moving expenses for all those summer movers are making plans. Lots of savings usually go on around this time of year so that they can spend alot later on in the year. I'm no expert or anything even close on the subject of marketing and trends, but I'm just basing what I've observed in my past 10 years working in retail that spring is not a very big spending season. It happened every single year I've worked in retail, so I'm thinking there's probably a trend here. Between February and June, there's very little spending on entertainment purposes (my entire retail background is entertainment in video rental, video games and computers). The only thing entertainment-wise (and that's what this is) that I see real spending on is the movies, and that's really only around April/May/June. But... like I said... I'm not an expert or anything close, just an observer.
