Pick up Computer Art magazine, and there's a free copy of Dina on it..not Vickie..but renders surprisingly well in Bryce (apostate am I..;) as well as Poser. Daz has a free Sarah (sort of the Koshini-class 'cutie' models), and if you check Computer Art, Digit, 3d World back issues, you can get Lo-Res Mike and Vickie (Michael and Victoria) also for relatively free..
not to be left out, but Runtime DNA site has a free character or two, Sixus 1 has a bunch (and I'm very impressed with them telling where everything gets loaded into what directory, which is why I'm using them more than the ones that don't...hint hint..;)
There are hundreds of free characters out there..go by freebies and pick up a CD's worth or two..;) take care.
