Err, sorry, no, I think I may have mislead you with that statement. I don't know the intricacies of the way the database is set up, but people I trust tell me that it's a 'non-trivial' problem to remove a member utterly and involves a lot of manual tweaking which is why it's taking some time. I just think that it can't be made any easier if new database links are appearing all the time with the ID of the member who wants to be removed.
