I've bought quite a few things from B&H and never been disappointed (I've bought 2 lenses, a flash, regulator strobe sync, etc). However, when it came time to buy my 10D I bit the bullet and paid about $200 more for it so that I could get it locally. Why? Because if I had found that the 10D I got was a dud or damaged in some way, I could drop back in to the store and physically talk to someone and trade the camera in. It didn't hurt that I'd use that local camera store exclusively and I know they'd take care of me if there was a problemn. I also know they're not some guy sitting in his apartment running an online store out of his bedroom. Also, I don't know where you live but if it's in the us, another thing you need to look out for is that the camera you buy is the US version and not Gray Market (an import version). Becomes a pain in the butt if you need to get warranty work and have to send it overseas. If I had to do mailorder, I would probably only deal with B&H or Adorama. You know, I never looked at the street price of the D70. It amazes me that they priced this camera so high. It's closer to the EOS 10D price than it is to the Canon Digital Rebel (300D) price. Weird. -=>Donald
