"Telling people to stay out of the OT forum if they don't like it; that's all the proof of arrogance and hostility that we need. You come here as guests, then try to take over a forum and make others unwelcome there." Oh, lord, the pot.kettle.black hypocrisy! You're yet again distorting things. There was absolutely nothing arrogant or hostile about my suggestion, neither did I "tell people" to stay out. I frequently encouraged people to speak up, even suggesting that lurkers should dive into the pool and join the party. My suggestion in this thread was perfectly reasonable, a variation on "if you can't take the heat, leave the kitchen." God knows I've walked away from certain Usenet groups because I tired of being target practice for hatemongers. Nobody ever tried to take over the OT Forum, certainly nobody in this thread, definitely not me! Furthermore, my suspicions about the religion thing were stated as exactly that, not as solid assertions. At least I admitted publicly that I'd been corrected ... most people wouldn't do that. It's pretty obvious who's really being arrogant ... and for what reason? It's really weird. I was one of the more friendly/silly/politically moderate people at OT. At least that's what others have said. :-) I trust that most folks here understand my actual tone and reasoning. I'm not going to be dragged into ongoing pettiness with someone whom I've never had anything against, but who continues to paint a diverse group of people sloppily, unfairly, and with rather telling hostility with a grotesquely broad brush.
