"I've never noticed many flamewars going on in the Lightwave forum." Oh, me either, because I've never visited it. :-) I just pulled that out of a hat for the sake of example. You're probably correct when you say that most members don't give a hoot about the OT forum. What I'd meant by my response is that the deletion matters to those who participated there, and from some of what I've read, to others who were lurkers, infrequent visitors, or who just recognized the value, in terms of overall sense of community, of having a place where people could just be people, instead of focussing on this-or-that application. Like Dialyn said. (And by the way, Dialyn, I always enjoyed your fun and interesting links, even if I didn't always respond to them.) Unfortunately, no matter how decent a person you are, someone out there who doesn't really know you is likely to get a thorn in their side about you, possibly based on simple misunderstanding. Something that Legume used to mention quite a bit. The nice thing is that there are people like you and I, Xenophonz, and several others here, who see the world in very different ways but who are still civil to one another and manage to find common ground, besides the obvious ... a love of 3D art and its tech. ...or am I being too arrogant? :-)
