Agree with the above. First check the image on your hard drive, make sure it looks like you want it to, and not like it currently does in the gallery. Try the edit button from your gallery page, this will give you what looks like the upload form, and browse only for the image, not the thumb. Then hit the upload button. This should load the correct image and not change anything else. You will probably have to refresh on the image page for the new image to take the place of the old one.
