Ya know, Bettie herself is not all that perfect. I have a recent book about her which has alot of pre and post fame pics in it. She was kind of plain looking in reality. Her magic was in how she used what she had, which was a great smile - that went a million miles. She talks about finding religion etc..in the late 50's/early 60's and dropping out of the public eye.
