I spent some time playing with boolean operations in Vue Pro (latest version). Here is an example of the results : Picture on the left is the starting 3D mesh. Picture in the middle is a plain boolean difference between that mesh and a cylinder. As Orio mentionned, this operation creates artifacts. Picture on the right is the same difference after 'baking to polygon'. As Antycon said, doing this works well and creates a good result for the boolean operation. I also tried to do that on a more complex Poser image but baking to polygon stopped after a few hours with an 'out of memory' message. Conclusion: Bake to polygon seems to be resolving the problem of artifacts but the operation quickly becomes too complex to handle.
