Apparently we're born with the ability to learn a huge range of phonemes - vut we quickly concentrate on teh phonemes that we hear around us and actually lose the ability to pronounce and possibly even hear "correctly" phonemes from unfamiliar languages. The more you can subject your child, when young (sorry no idea what age) to a variety of languages the better the chances they'll be able to do well with languages (if they want to) later.
