Macro shots provide a small DOF by definition; the aperture and the surface of the lense are in comparison much larger than the object, so it is as if the round border of your lense looks around (and even behind!) the object. The composition is really nice although I would suggest to get your object out of the centre by putting it for example right under, making it a little more dynamic. You've made quite a name here on RR, because your macro shots are terrific with outstanding quality. Jan-Carel P.S.
