I had the same question at a point and there was never an exhaustive answer, and I had to do it the hard way, learning small peaces at the time envying these guys who managed to do it.
Before Poser 5 and Pro Pack I got to learn through some tuts using Ray Dream, PHI builder and UV mapper making confirming clothes. It was so tedious because I could not model properly, I kind of gave up.
When the Pro pack came, it apparantly would do the needed slicing of the model easier, but for my part I did not do anything before I could model more properly and when I got hold of some better tutorials.
I started with PhilC's tutorial, but that one did not give it all because he explained his method using Thruspace app. I did get alot of valuable knowledge about what I lacked and what tools I needed.
Something wonderful happened when I got hold of the app., P-Wizard which actually made a proper conformed clothing of your sliced model based on the target CR2 file. For the slicing I was using UV mapper.
When I got hold of Amapi, I got to learn and apply some of the methods from PhilC, and even better, when I got hold of Brycetechs Amapi tutorial, I have managed to do what ever I have put my mind to make.
I have not relied solely on one app. alone, but just telling how it became possible for me.
My app. bundle is like this: Amapi Designer for modelling dynamic clothes alone, and for conforming clothes models. For conforming clothes; Amapi, UV mapper Pro and P-Wizard. And for master render, Carrara, of course with Transposer.
PhilC's and Brycetechs tutorials, also.
