Firstly, I have not managed to get an animated gif to work as a texture. If it is possible please tell me how. I have some freestuff ready that will only work in P5, but if I can use animated gif's then I can make it usable in P4 as well.
I use *.avi uncompressed. That means there are no codecs of any sort. But the file size doesn't have to be huge. Remember that if the avi is going to be on the screen of a TV in your animation, and your animation is 640 by 480 pixels screen size, and the TV takes up a quarter of the screen in your animation, you can resize your avi to say, 200 by 150 pixels, and you won't lose any quality in your animation. If your .avi is 25 fps and is two seconds long, then your Poser animation must be 50 frames at 25 fps. That way the avi and the animation match. If your avi is 20 seconds long, and your animation is only ten seconds, you will lose the second half of the avi in the animation. If your avi is 2 seconds long, and your animation is ten seconds, you can select the Loop_Movie option, and the avi will repeat five times in your animation.
Hope I explained that OK.
