I never thought about batteries in my pen before it suddenly stopped responding. I looked at it and saw no obvious way of taking it apart, so at first I didn't think there were any batteries in it either. Then, finally I tried to violently jerk it apart L and lo and behold, one AAA bettery sat inside. :o) Granted, this was a Genius and not a Wacom, but I'm with Ron/Bobbie in this one: If there isn't a battery, there's gotta be a cord. It doesn't work by magic :o)
