I have both plus C4D and Max, I still find myself using Bryce the most during my 'hobby' moments. (I use Max at work for creating images of early designs for products). Terragen is also worth considering as is Artmatic Voyager for the MAC. Personally my favourites are Bryce and Max, but you've got to try these things out and see what works for you. I've tried Maya, Lightwave, Truspace, XSI, and still come back to play with Max and Bryce (ok I'd buy XSI if I could afford the price for the full package)
