odditys ive noticed...there seems to be a light source at high noon no matter what, even though the sun is at an angle(the prorender guy has this in his images as well, it is a bryce flaw it seems).anyway, the settings are pretty simple.Note:the room and one ball is pure white not grey.

Hi TB; The light you're seeing sounds like the Sky Dome Color which is a global, straight down, non-shadowing light. Setting SDC to black removes the illumination. HTH; Dan

TwistedBolt ( ) posted Thu, 15 July 2004 at 9:41 PM

oh yeah, render time was short...as my last post was an hour ago.please download it and put the raytrace at 255,it should be smooth like butta',my compy is 300Mhz so it would be slower.

draculaz ( ) posted Thu, 15 July 2004 at 9:49 PM

TwistedBolt ( ) posted Thu, 15 July 2004 at 10:24 PM

Hmmmm, it works fine and downloads for me, maybe your browser or something dosnt allow it.Well, somebody try it out please(if the link goes for you).

TwistedBolt ( ) posted Thu, 15 July 2004 at 10:27 PM

Either way,I am providing the file for group tests and inspection.Check the materials on the spheres to see how I set up the material settings.also disect the sky settings, and render settings.see what you can do!

TwistedBolt ( ) posted Fri, 16 July 2004 at 1:24 AM

er......so does it work/load right? Note that the preview window will not look the same as the final render dont let it fool you. quiet makes me worry..lol

shadowdragonlord ( ) posted Fri, 16 July 2004 at 2:23 AM

I don't get it. It this pro-render in action? What are we looking at...?

TwistedBolt ( ) posted Fri, 16 July 2004 at 2:47 AM

Pro-Render!!!! H3ll no man...these are my settings.Download the file(if you have Bryce5) and hit render.I talked with Flak in bryce chat...he confirmed the file works and renders fast too.Disect the settings and play...I will do a proper thread on "How" I did this scene file, what effects what, and example pics.Pumeco so far has been all talk..so I made this file to replicate his PRO-RENDER stuff, but actually give out a scene file and render settings so the community can look, check, and tweak the settings. So far his website doesnt work....he drones on like we are stupid, then never provides a file. Here's mine.^_^

TwistedBolt ( ) posted Fri, 16 July 2004 at 3:38 AM

AS...what do you think,as you may know the settings that I have used better than I. I should remind everyone,I stumbled on these settings around 8:00PM and then got the final 2 images after pumeco's taunt. The sky settings and true ambiance seem to be a key factor...as well as texture mats(works with pics as textures too).

here is a comparison of the same scene settings as the download. With "True Ambiance" on and off. This also supports AS on the reflection thing.

shadowdragonlord ( ) posted Fri, 16 July 2004 at 1:03 PM

Aye, I gotcha now, Twisted! Sometimes, text-basedsarcasm is lost on me. Seriously, though, I like your TA experiments. A few of us, with Ornlu at the top of the list, have done many experiments with True Ambience rendering, thus the small bit of offense when Pumeco first brought up "Pro-Render". If we're using the same techniques, then that would (by his definition) make us all "pros"? Well where's my paycheck!?!?! Off to post my latest TA test render... Keep 'em coming, TwistedBolt...!

jasonmit ( ) posted Fri, 16 July 2004 at 4:10 PM

The Poser folks post a lot of TA renders.

guslaw ( ) posted Fri, 16 July 2004 at 6:11 PM

...yeah, but it's THAT kind of TA, jasonmit

TwistedBolt ( ) posted Fri, 16 July 2004 at 6:30 PM
