Those little buttons are for you to SAVE the pov you are working on.
If for example: You are building a scene and you have been using CAMERA to line things up, when you have done whatever and need to move the camera elswhere, you can save that camera pov by clicking one of the blue buttons.

If you run out of buttons and you know that one or more of those buttons is redundant (ie you don't need a particulat pov) you can re-claim that button by alt-leftclick. You might try just re-loading your scene (if you haven't done any work) If you haven't used any blue buttons your pov should be where you left it. Other than that you'll just have to re-sight your camera or director-view.
