Hehehe! I've tried it! I've loaded a simple prop (so I have something to see). Then I switched to the "From Top"-camera I did a CTRL-C Switched to "Main"-camera and ... did a CTRL-V ---> The viewport looked exactly like the "From Front"-camera!!! I think, the copy operation took SOME but not all of the parameters. Now I have a Main-camera which cannot move in y or x-direction :-) Well, after a hearty "NEW" the main-camera was normal again!
