Hi all, I really appreciate all your comments about this work. Everything is probably not accurate to the dot, however I really try to stick to historical pieces. Phily, the pic you posted here represents flintlocks from a much ealier period than the one in question. The ones on this picture date back, I would say to the 1750's, whereas the equipment I modelled is more in the 1820's. So a lot of the ornementation in the flintlock design has disappeared to give way to a cheaper more practical to use design. (I attached a pic of the lock itself which dates from that era). As for the metal bands, I'm not sure either what they were for, but they were there. (see the picture of this "Horse Pistol", which was the model used by most trappers back then) The rifle is the french trading gun design, (not the Kentucky design), which was very common back then in all trading posts of what's now new england, and south eastern Canada. I am sure there are flaws in this work and I am really glad that you point them out to me, it helps me make better products. Again, thanks a lot for all your comments ! Luc
