One thing to keep in mind, it's easier to draw emotion from an artwork if one can relate to it in some way. For example, someone might be more apt to enjoy abstracts, if they played with a kaleidescope when they were younger. Single men might not enjoy looking at a still life of a baby crib as much as mother would... etc... With that in mind, right now I just don't see enough elements to relate to. It's a dedication to Matthews, perhaps you can incorporate a cd into your scene in some way? Music notes? The title suggests "dreams" so how do you think you can convey that? Simple is good, but I think thus far this may be too simple. Btw, I love Dave Matthews too! "Where are you going" is in my list of top ten pop favorites of all time.
