"Once it gets its tentacles into your machine, you have to edit your registry to remove it. " There really oughta be a law against installers that forcibly insert their settings into your registry. For me, the worst thing is programs that put their own defaults into the desktop-right-click mechanism, so that I have to pick from 10 different obscure kinds of documents (most of which refer to apps that I've already removed!) when trying to set up a simple shortcut.
