PZ3's can be hand-edited, right? If not, ignore my post and chalk me up to 'less than properly educated'. If you can open them in a text editor, you might try comparing the corrupt files to known good file inside the text editor; perhaps you may find a few offending lines that allow you at least open it to see your characters.
