OK in my last post I didn't write everything down so that people could understand me very well (it was really late here). So this is what I really meant to ask: In Bryce 5 I was wondering how you get strange shapes, that aren't primitives that have just been repeated many times. Strange curved shapes like gevidal or rochr have in their pictures.

You can use multi replicate with offsets in bryce. You can also multi replicate along a curve. You can also import objects from other programs. Some people use programs called Wings or Spiralizer. I use a program called Rhino. Gevidal and Rochr have hundreds of gallery images. Maybe you could link to one in this post. Better yet copy the image and circle the parts you mean then post it to this thread. Then we could tell which objects you are talking about.

Here's a simple bryce sphere that I multi replicated in bryce. Click on the object then press (alt shift D) to get the multi replicate window to pop up. offset in x and y both to make a spiral. Change the angle or the number to change the appearence. Because I used a 5 degree angle the spheres repeat after 360 degrees (72 spheres was all I really needed). Hopefully you can get thet idea from this image.

Do you mean buildings, characters and stuff? Do what Electroglyph suggested. Grab one or two images and point out what type of objects youre referring to. Then its easier to explain how theyre made. :)

Ok, let me tell you what I know about work GeVidal does there ! :)
Long, long time ago (lol), he started to play with terrains and lattices, that's what his work is based on, he is master of it, for sure !!! :)

And, how Rochr does his stuff, it's very well explained on his website tutorial, check it out, some of his models are imported from Cinema4D, dunno about this particular render, he usually states it under his gallery posts, Rohr ??? :)

Here's a tutorial by Agent Smith that probably covers a lot of what you want to know ;o) He's using plugins to make regular shapes, but you'll get the gist of how lattices work..................

Actually those arches are hand drawn. :) But its easy to do with booleans. Ive made a quick model for you, to download. Disect it and see how its built. :) Cant speak for Gevidal, but to me it looks like hes using a mix between booleans and lattices. Really cool AS tut! :)

Yay Rochr. I'll bet the lighting comes from your transmap trick. ashgondai, you should also read a few posts back by clicking on the link. A lot of what you see as complex modeling is really excellent texturing. Rochr gives away the technique and the transmap for making these tall structure lights. Just trying to save face because I was so far off on your request.
