I just finished a day of diagnostics, didn't find anything on my hardware, so I'm getting ready to take the cover off the machine and listen to it while it boots up. This worked for me a few years back with a failing disk, I was able to hear what was going on. I'll let you know what does-or-doesn't happen, lol
