That's so cool! The UV filter is to protect the lens itself... rath crack a 10 dollar UV filter then the 100 dollar lens, right? ;) The Wide Angle Lens is nice too... I can't explain how that works very well... so read about it in your manual and let us know how your first shots go, okay? Jinx
