Poser saves the cloth dynamics information in a file with the DYN extension, and this may be messing up your import since only one of them will be read. Try saving your characters to the Figures library, and then placing them together in a new scene. You'll need to recalculate the cloth simulation.

I know that Poser allows you to import PZ3s, but I never know what that feature is going to do, and I try to avoid using it. :)
