This has NOTHING to do with popularity, Harmen.
With the major increase of mixed Fractal/3D,etc. images we were getting in the gallery, the line had to be drawn somewhere.
There were questions raised here by members, such as "Where is the Fractal in this image?", and "That is a Bryce image with a Fractal in the bottom corner" (just examples).
Then it became a percentage game with things like "90% 3D, and 10% Fractal", 60/40, and so on.
There is no way that we were about to use percentages in deciding what should stay, and what should go.
We have a "Mixed Medium" gallery here on Rendo. THIS is a "Fractal" gallery.
After all the back and forth on this thing, we decided the best way to go was by the 'focus' of the images. If the main focus of your image is a Fractal (the point where your eye is drawn to in the image), it belongs here. If you have other elements in the image that take the 'focus' off the Fractal (3D/2D objects, tubes, photos, etc.), then it belongs in "Mixed Medium".
Harmen, the first thing you see when viewing your image, is the text. The Fractal part is secondary, and therefore does not comply with rules.
