3DS should work out well. You can try converting PRJ, COB or other using a converting program like Crossroads, 3DWin, or 3D Explorer. PRJ and COB in particular are a bit weird about converting, though, so you'd probably have an easier time just continuing to search for 3DS, OBJ or DXF. Have you checked through the Free Stuff here at Renderosity? There are at least a couple books (open and closed), and I think there's a briefcase, too.
